| Wheels/Tires: |

|
| Problem: |
The performance suffered a lot in the last month, the car was
boosting 3-4 psi in 2nd gear and 4-5 in 3rd, feeling very sluggish
and slow to respond. A close inspection showed that the catalytic
converter became clogged and melted, dramatically reducing the
airflow in the exhaust. Switch temporarily to the stock downpipe.
The ECU set the "Rear O2 sensor heater circuit" error code.

|
| Problem: |
As the car's performance degraded significantly in the last couple
of weeks, I took it for inspection to a complimentary Saab Clinic
conducted by Queensway Saab every fall. Problems found:
1) sluggish general performance, dropping oil and coolant levels:
the main suspect is the turbo, no external leaks found;
2) the right hand inner CV joint is leaking grease;
3) the stanchion arm to subframe bushings need replacement;
4) the front O2 sensor is slow to respond;
5) the "Check Engine" light is not operational.
| | Repair: |
Ordered replacement parts from

|
| Problem: |
Performed a thorough inspection to determine the cause of
various rattles and other problems:
1) banging sound in the back when going over bumps: the exhaust
heat shield that wraps around the fuel tank came off all three
bolts that were holding it;
2) misaligned left headlight: the clip that secures the bulb was
missing, so the bulb was dangling freely on its wires inside
the headlight housing;
3) metallic rattle from the belt area: worn idler pulley;
4) loud exhaust sound from the front accompanied by exhaust smell:
the flex joint on the downpipe rusted through;
5) the brake fluid looks very dirty.
| | Repair: |
1) bolted the heat shield back in place;
2) found the bulb clip... in the back pocket of the passenger seat.
